The Aidija Chamber Choir was formed in 1989 on the initiative of the choir conductor Romualdas Gražinis. From the very first performances Aidija conquered audiences with its youthful vitality, finesse and musicianship. Its idiosyncratic timbre and artistic insights have distinguished it from many other choirs and warranted the trust of Lithuanian composers and choral music experts as well as music lovers. Choir Aidija consists of around 25 members, mostly graduates or students of choral conducting, music theory, composition, vocal studies at the M. K. Čiurlionis Gymnasium of Arts and Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius, Lithuania. The choir’s extensive repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant and classics to contemporary music. Choir Aidija performs around 30 concerts every year in Lithuania and abroad.
